IDF issues major evacuation alert ahead of Gaza City operation
Spokesman warns civilians to flee south as Israeli forces prepare to expand activity into the heart of Gaza City.

The IDF spokesperson in Arabic, Colonel Aviv Kochavi, published a wide evacuation warning this morning (Sunday) for the residents of northern Gaza and threatened that the IDF intends to operate in the center of Gaza City as well.
"An urgent warning to all those present in Gaza City and the Jabalia area," wrote the IDF spokesperson and urged residents to evacuate immediately south to the humanitarian area of Al-Mawasi. The IDF spokesperson published the neighborhoods whose residents need to evacuate - Zeitoun Al-Mashriki, the Old City, Turkman, Jdeida, Tuffah, Al-Daraja, Sabra, Jabalia Camp, Al-Rawda, Al-Nahda, Al-Zuhur, Al-Noor, Al-Salam, and Tal Al-Za'tar.
He emphasized to the residents: "For your safety, move south immediately," and added that "the IDF is acting with great strength in these areas, and the military operation will intensify, expand, and will also reach downtown - with the aim of destroying the infrastructure of the terrorist organizations. Hamas endangers you and brings disaster upon you. Returning to the combat zones poses a serious danger to your lives."
Beit Hanoun was the focus of IDF strikes this morning. A year and eight months into the war in Gaza, a wide-scale attack is being launched on the structures threatening Sderot and the communities adjacent to the fence in the Gaza Envelope. A senior officer stated: "It's hard to believe that it still stands, we can't end the war before removing this threat."
