What’s Beneath Jabalia? IDF Expands Gaza Offensive
‘No Place Left to Hide’: IDF Seals Off Jabalia, Strikes Tunnels and Rocket Sites | WATCH
Israeli ground forces have launched a new phase of operations in northern Gaza, focusing on a key village suspected of harboring terror infrastructure. The military reports significant progress in neutralizing threats both above and below ground, as part of its broader campaign.

As part of the ongoing expansion of Operation Gideon’s Chariots, IDF forces have launched a significant new phase in northern Gaza. For the first time since the beginning of the ground manoeuvre, troops from the 162nd Division have moved into and encircled the village of Jabalia, with the clear objective of locating and destroying terrorist infrastructure both on the surface and in the underground tunnel network beneath the area.
Under the command of the 162nd Division, the 401st Armored Brigade’s combat team has been leading the operations inside Jabalia. Since initiating the encirclement, the unit has been engaged in intense combat and demolition activity, successfully destroying rocket launchers, tunnel shafts, and other strategic terror facilities. Numerous militants have been eliminated during these operations, marking a major blow to the terror groups entrenched in the area.
Parallel operations have been conducted by the Givati Brigade’s combat team, which has reported major success in its sweep through the Jabalia sector. The brigade has uncovered large stockpiles of weapons, destroyed key components of terror infrastructure, and neutralized dozens of armed operatives in close-quarters engagements.
In one recent incident during operations in the Jabalia area, Givati forces identified several armed militants advancing toward them from within the village. The soldiers quickly coordinated with the Israeli Air Force, which deployed aircraft to strike the cell, successfully eliminating the threat from the air.
These recent developments in Jabalia mark a significant step in the IDF’s broader mission to dismantle Hamas’ operational capabilities in northern Gaza. The emphasis on targeting both surface-level assets and subterranean tunnels highlights Israel’s comprehensive approach to dismantling the terror infrastructure that has been deeply embedded in civilian areas.
The military has released images from inside Jabalia, showing armoured vehicles, infantry soldiers, and air support working in tandem to secure the area and prevent future threats. This stage of the operation demonstrates a tightening of the noose around Hamas' strongholds and signals Israel's intent to maintain military pressure until all operational objectives are met.
