“I Saved Khamenei from a Humiliating Death”: Trump Unleashes Explosive Iran Revelations
Claiming to have prevented an assassination attempt on Khamenei and halted a massive Israeli airstrike on Tehran, Trump reveals behind-the-scenes drama that could reshape the Middle East conflict.

U.S. President Donald Trump launched a sharp attack on Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei during Shabbat, using his Truth Social platform to criticize Iran’s leadership and announce the reversal of a plan to lift sanctions on Iran.
In his post, Trump wrote: “Why would the ‘Supreme Leader,’ Khamenei, so openly and foolishly claim that he won the war against Israel when even he knows that statement is a lie? It’s simply not true. As a man of strong faith, he shouldn’t lie. His country has been destroyed, three evil nuclear sites were completely obliterated.” He described Iran as “a ruined country with no future,” citing a devastated military, a collapsed economy, and widespread destruction.
Trump revealed two significant actions: first, he claimed to have prevented an assassination of Khamenei, stating, “I knew exactly where he was hiding, and I didn’t allow Israel or the U.S. fighting forces—the strongest in the world—to end his life. I saved him from a very ugly and humiliating death.” Second, he disclosed that he intervened to stop a major Israeli airstrike on Tehran during the final stages of the conflict: “In the last campaign of the war, I demanded that Israel bring back a very large group of planes that were on their way to Tehran. It could have been the largest attack of the war, by far.”
Initially, Trump said he had considered easing sanctions to aid Iran’s recovery post-conflict: “In recent days, I worked on the possible lifting of sanctions and other things, which would have given Iran a better chance to recover quickly.” However, he reversed this decision, citing Iran’s hostile response: “Instead of gratitude, I received statements of hatred and anger. I immediately stopped everything.”
Addressing Iran’s leadership directly, Trump urged them to rejoin “the global order,” warning that their current path would lead to further deterioration. “They are always so angry and hostile—and look where it’s gotten them: a scorched and sooty country, with a shattered military, a terrible economy, and death everywhere. They have no hope, and it will only get worse!” He concluded with a characteristic quip: “I wish Iran’s leadership would understand that sometimes you achieve more with honey than with vinegar. Peace!”
