Daring operation gone awry
Undercover IDF raid to arrest Gaza terrorist alive ends with his death in Khan Yunis
The IDF had hoped to question the top Popular Resistance Committees figure, but intense resistance during the undercover raid led to his death on the scene.

Undercover IDF special forces entered Khan Yunis in a cover-up manner, with some of the fighters disguised as women, and killed Ahmed Sarhan, a senior member of the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, according to media outlets in Gaza.
According to the claim, the Palestinian terrorist's wife and children were arrested in the operation. The Resistance Committees is the third largest terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, which took part in the massacre on October 7 and also held hostages, in close cooperation with Hamas.
It is claimed that the special forces were supposed to kidnap the senior terrorist for the purpose of interrogation, to obtain information about the hostages, but the operation became complicated and he was shot dead.
As a result, Sarhan's body was transferred to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. At the same time, in Gaza, photos of the "displaced persons file" allegedly used by the special forces in the operation in Khan Yunis are being published.
In Gaza, it is claimed that this is the equipment used by the special forces in Khan Younis. It is referred to as an 'evacuation cart', the kind that is seen a lot in Gaza when people are moving from place to place, carrying mattresses and blankets. However, as can be seen in the photos - on the outside it appears to be an 'evacuation cart' - but inside there was some kind of tank that served the force.
According to Arab reports, the operation in Khan Younis lasted about 40 minutes and included more than 30 different attacks. The Saudi Al-Arabiya network initially claimed that 'a special Israeli force entered the center of Khan Younis to carry out a mission to rescue hostages', but security officials clarified that no hostages were rescued this morning.
A spokesperson for the IDF stated: 'The IDF is in the midst of operation ‘Gideon's Chariots’ and is active throughout the Gaza Strip. Following the reports, there is no change in the situation assessment.'
