"A War Few Believed Possible"
Senior Pentagon official: "It’s No Longer a Question of If — Only When" | A Choice America Cannot Avoid
Senior Pentagon official: Israel opened the skies over Iran. The U.S. has no choice but to join — or miss a once-in-a-generation moment.

As of this hour, high-level discussions continue inside the Pentagon regarding the possibility of joining Israel’s offensive campaign against Iran. A senior Pentagon official tells JFeed that opinions remain split, and some decision-makers still fail to grasp “the magnitude of the moment and America’s historic responsibility.”
“If the U.S. fails to support Israel offensively at this juncture, it will be remembered as a generational mistake,” the official said. “Israel has done what many top U.S. generals believed was impossible alone, it created open skies for its air force across Iran’s territory.”
According to the official, internal war simulations had predicted significant Israeli losses, including the capture of pilots. The current operation has so far defied those expectations.
While the United States is actively assisting on the defensive front - providing interceptors, intelligence, and precision munitions, military leaders now face a critical choice. The official was blunt: “To achieve both declared objectives, a nuclear-free Iran and the collapse of the regime — the U.S. will have to engage directly.”
In his words, the question now is not if, but when, how, and to what extent.
The official added that the Mossad’s reach into the upper echelons of the Iranian military and Revolutionary Guard is the result of decades of clandestine work. "American intelligence agencies are in awe. Many are still reeling," he said.
He emphasized that much of what is unfolding remains concealed from public view. “Israel is only in the first operational phase. The Mossad is still active as we speak, and no senior figure in Iran is beyond reach.”
Within Iran’s ruling circles, panic is growing — “and justifiably so,” he noted. “Though the regime has yet to fully grasp what panic actually looks like. That will come.”
“This is history unfolding. A war college case study in real time. Future generations, from schoolchildren to military cadets, will study this.”
According to the official, the intelligence gains thus far may exceed the military accomplishments. “The story is far from over,” he said. “And the most painful chapters are yet to come.”
