Tensions Escalate in the Iranian Capital
Incident in Tehran: Reports of Air Defense Activation and Explosions in Iranian Capital
Unconfirmed reports from opposition sources suggest a possible attack on an IRGC commander’s residence in Tehran, with multiple casualties evacuated after air defense systems were activated.

According to Iranian opposition sources, air defense systems were activated late Monday night in the skies over Tehran’s “Shahid Beheshti” area, followed by sounds of explosions and emergency evacuations of injured individuals by ambulances.
Some unconfirmed reports suggest that the residence of a senior commander in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) may have been targeted in the incident. Five ambulances were reportedly seen quickly evacuating casualties and clearing the scene.
The reports have not been corroborated by state-affiliated media or official Iranian sources, who so far have remained silent on the matter. Earlier, regime-linked outlets claimed that air defense systems were engaged as part of a scheduled military exercise.
Additional reports indicate similar air defense activity was observed in the city of Hamedan.
Opposition sources have speculated that the casualties may have resulted from friendly fire by Iran’s own air defense systems, although this remains unconfirmed.
