The Empire Strikes Back
25 Israelis Wounded in Ruthless Iranian Missile Barrage
In a dramatic escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict, the U.S. launched devastating strikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities, signaling a new chapter in this volatile confrontation. Iran’s swift missile retaliation against Israeli cities has further intensified fears of a prolonged, deadly war in the region.

Iran launched missile barrages targeting Israel early on Sunday, June 22, 2025. These were launched from its eastern region, roughly 2,000 kilometers away from Israel’s borders after Israel intensified its attacks on missile sites in western Iran, forcing Tehran to move its missile operations deeper into the country’s east.
Reports indicate at least two waves of ballistic missiles struck Israeli territory, with impacts confirmed in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Nes Ziona, and Beer Yaakov.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that these attacks wounded at least 16 people, including one seriously injured in Haifa, where a missile hit without warning sirens, prompting an investigation into potential alert system failures and others with minor injuries across central Israel.
The IDF also noted that some missiles may have been misfired interceptors, adding to the chaos. Israel’s airspace was closed, repatriation flights were halted, and nationwide restrictions, including school cancellations and bans on gatherings, were imposed.
The IDF responded with a new wave of airstrikes on western Iran, targeting ballistic missile launchers used in the morning’s attack and eliminating Iranian soldiers. This tit-for-tat escalation follows Israel’s earlier strikes, which had already killed hundreds in Iran and damaged its nuclear and military infrastructure.
This barrage follows Trump's audacious bombing of three of Iran's top nuclear facilities early this morning. This has obviously inflamed regional tensions, with Houthi militants threatening U.S. ships in the Red Sea and Russia warning of severe repercussions if Iran’s leadership is targeted.
