Senseless tragedy
Who was Sarah Lynn Milgram, murdered in DC terror attack last night?
Sarah Lynn Milgrim, an Israeli embassy worker killed in a D.C. terror attack, once chronicled Jewish-Palestinian peace efforts. She was days from getting engaged.

Sarah Milgram, an Israeli embassy employee in Washington, D.C., who was killed in a terrorist attack at the city’s Jewish Museum, visited Israel in 2023 as part of a program promoting coexistence and peace.
Milgram, shot dead by a pro-Palestinian assailant, shared her experience in a LinkedIn post, writing, “While working with ‘Technology for Peace’ last summer, I fell in love with documenting the incredible stories of program participants and knew I had to do more.”
She added, “Over the past five weeks, I’ve been in Israel conducting research for my master’s thesis, which examined the importance of friendship in peace-building processes. I followed the stories of 12 Israelis and Palestinians who participated in a Neve Shalom seminar organized by ‘Technology for Peace’ to document their transformation.”
Milgram worked in the embassy’s public diplomacy department, overseeing delegations to Israel. She was in a relationship with Yaron Lishinsky, and the couple planned to get engaged. Israel’s ambassador to the U.S., Yehiel Leiter, said, “He bought a ring and planned to propose to her in Jerusalem. They were a beautiful couple who went to enjoy an evening at Washington’s cultural center.”
The Israeli embassy’s X account mourned, “Yaron and Sarah were our friends and colleagues, in the prime of their lives. Tonight, a terrorist shot and killed them as they left an event at the Capitol’s Jewish Museum. Our entire embassy staff is shocked and heartbroken. No words can capture the depth of pain and horror we feel at this profound loss. Our hearts are with their families, and the embassy stands by them in this difficult time.”
