A Tragic Failure
IDF: Here's what we know about incident killing four soldiers
The IDF provided Army Radio with the initial results of the investigation into the fatal incident today in the Gaza Strip.

Following the fatal incident in Khan Yunis in which four soldiers were killed and several wounded in a building collapse, the IDF has released its initial findings, according to a report by Army Radio reporter Doron Kadosh:
"The Commando Brigade carried out another nighttime attack last night in its area of operations in the western part of the town of Bani Suheila in Khan Yunis. As part of the attack, forces raided buildings and Hamas terror infrastructure.
"At 6:05 AM, one of the teams from the Maglan unit, accompanied by engineering forces from the Yahalom unit, entered to clear a building - which intelligence indicated was used by Hamas and possibly contained a tunnel system - and therefore required entry and investigation.
"A few minutes after the force entered the building, at approximately 6:10, an explosive device detonated inside - and the building collapsed on the force of fighters.
"As a result of the collapse of the booby-trapped building and the explosion of the device, 4 fighters were killed and 5 others were wounded - one seriously and the rest moderately. The wounded were immediately evacuated from the scene to a hospital.
"In the hours that followed, operations began to extract the bodies from the rubble of the building. Some of them required many hours to extract - under a protective envelope of fire and cover from artillery and aircraft of the Air Force.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that before the force entered the building, the required exercises were carried out to ensure the building was not booby-trapped (as should be done before any force enters a building - using drones, Oketz unit dogs, bulldozers and engineering equipment, or weapons that shake buildings and is supposed to detonate explosives before the force enters). The IDF is still investigating the matter."
